In the course of the work performed by the Economic RSF, a handful of government policies and practices were identified as impediments to economic recovery and growth:
With a focus on easing the cost of doing business in Puerto Rico in general and removing the hurdles posed by specific laws and policies, the Economic RSF began formulating strategies to provide tools to support the Government of Puerto Rico’s (GPR) efforts to attract more direct investment and develop a skilled workforce.
- The cost of doing business (both financial and non-financial)
- Tax structure
- The Jones Act
- Labor policies
- Federal entitlement programs
